Dhaka/Narsingdi: A Hindu man died after a fire broke out at a garage in Bangladesh’s Narsingdi district, where he was reportedly sleeping when the blaze started. According to officials cited by Indian media, Narsingdi Police Superintendent Abdullah Al Faruque said investigators have collected CCTV footage from the area and found visuals that indicate suspicious movement around the premises near the time of the incident. The police are examining whether the fire was triggered by an external factor or by an electrical short circuit, he said.
Fire service personnel reportedly broke open the shutter in an attempt to rescue the victim, but by the time responders reached him, he had already suffered fatal injuries. Authorities said the blaze originated inside the shop/garage area where he was sleeping, and evidence has been seized from the scene as part of the inquiry.
