The ICC T20 Cricket World Cup trophy will be brought to Ahmedabad on January 28, 2026, and displayed at Nirman School in Vastrapur, which is the alma mater of India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, according to a report. The showcase is part of the build-up to the ICC’s T20 World Cup, scheduled for February to March, and is aimed at generating excitement among fans and students.
As per the report, Bumrah’s association with the institution played a key role in the venue being selected for the trophy display. The managing trustee of Nirman School said Bumrah’s mother, Daljit Bumrah, served as the school’s principal from 2008 to 2019, strengthening the link between the player and the campus community.
The trophy viewing has been organised in time slots: from 10:00 am to noon, Nirman School students and specially invited guests will get access, after which students from other Ahmedabad schools will be allowed to view the trophy until 1:30 pm. The format reflects an outreach approach that combines controlled crowd management with maximum student participation.
The report noted that this will be the trophy’s second outing to Ahmedabad, with an earlier display having taken place at the city airport.
